The Round Altar was originaly creaed in 130 but rebuilt in 1740. It is built from white mable and is ~15 ft. high. There are three circular tiers, the top considered to symbolize heaven. The Chinese believe that nine is an imperial number - it is the largest single digit number. This is where the Emperor would pray for favorable weather.
